Nexus 5 is the 2013-released successor to Googles much acclaimed smartphone Nexus 4. It is the fifth smartphone in Googles Nexus series and is the slimmest, fastest Nexus phone ever made. Manufactured in collaboration with Korean tech giant LG which also co-developed the preceding Nexus 4 for Google, this handset offers improved software and hardware specs. Its primary camera now offers HDR+ mode for a stunning photography experience. You can also use the cameras Auto Awesome feature to make aniamations, panoramas and add a variety of effects to your images.
The handset showcases a bigger Full HD IPS touchscreen thats 4.95 inches in size and offers a pixel density of 445ppi for top notch clarity. At 8.59 mm thin and 130g, the Nexus 5 is sleek and stylish and comes with a trademark back cover. Its 1920 x 1080p screen is made of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for top grade protection from scratches and also supports multitouch as well.
LG Nexus 5 is powered by Android OS v4.4 (KitKat) and is now updateable to v4.4.2 iteration. When released, it was the first smartphone to offer this Android platform from Google. The OS provides an improved Android UI and brand new wallpapers as well. Voice Actions integration makes phone navigation a breeze. For instance, saying "Ok Google" will send text/search for images/provide directions and so much more.
The device works on a Quad-core, 2.3GHz processor housed on the sophisticated Snapdragon 800 SoC from Qualcomm. The chipset provides 2GB built-in RAM while an Adreno 330 450MHz GPU powers the phones graphics acceleration. This combination makes it an ideal choice for gaming and multimedia enthusiasts including app developers. Internet browsing is also seamless and works without any lag.
LG Nexus 5 sports an 8MP (primary) HD back camera as part of its construction and comes with Optical Image Stabilization to eliminate image blur due to camera shake.
